BCK seeks qualified board members
BOOKS FOR COLLIER KIDS BOARD RECRUITMENT
Founded in 2005, Books for Collier Kids is an all-volunteer organization with a single mission: to provide new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy—access to books. We distribute new books monthly to children in Title I schools in pre-K, kindergarten, and first and second grades, as well as a new three-year-old program. In addition to the Collier County Public School System, we partner with approximately 20 nonprofit organizations in Collier County.
Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure that BCK has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Good governance includes:
- Participation
- Consensus Orientation
- Inclusiveness
- Responsiveness
- Transparency
- Rule of Law

BCK board members believe in and are active advocates and ambassadors for BCK’s values, mission and vision. Members attend six meetings a year and participate in occasional functions and special events.

- Experience and passion for children and education
